An Introduction to our Nursery
Nivan Lodge is a 30 place pre-school nursery set in the spacious King Charles the Martyr Hall near the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.
The nursery is mornings only and runs within school term time.
The nursery has been established for over 50 years and been under the same ownership for 30 years.
Nivan Lodge - Main Nursery
Nivan Lodge provides a warm, safe environment for children aged from rising three until ready for school, with a dedicated team of highly qualified staff providing a varied range of activities and equipment for play, learning and fun.
If places are available children can start at any time during term-time although our main intake is in September. To ensure continuity, priority is automatically given from one term to the next to existing Nivan children, and waiting lists are then prioritised by siblings and Little Nivan children and then by order of birth.
The nursery is open all weekday mornings, Term Time only (following generally the Kent term-time calendar), 9 - 12 noon.
'Lunch Club' is an optional additional hour for those parents who require that bit of extra time and is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12.00 noon - 1.00pm. Children need to bring their own packed lunch as unfortunately we are not able to prepare food on the premises.
Little Nivan is our area for the younger children (from 2yrs) who otherwise might find mixing with the older children a bit daunting. This area is supervised by an increased staff to child ratio of 1:4, and a tailor-made curriculum and facilities for this younger age group.
We find that children progress from Little Nivan into the main nursery environment easily and with little or no anxiety as they move up with established friends and confidence into an already very familiar (albeit larger) environment.
We are able to offer places to children eligible for Early Years Funding for 3 year old's, and are able to offer a limited number of 'Free For Two' (FF2) places.
