An Introduction to our Nursery

Nivan Lodge is a 30 place pre-school nursery set in the spacious King Charles the Martyr Hall near the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.

The nursery is currently mornings only and runs within school term time.

The nursery has been established for over 50 years and been under the same ownership for 29 years.

The nursery is divided into two areas. The main area, Nivan Lodge is in the large hall and the smaller room is dedicated to the younger children aged from 2 years and will accommodate up to eight children and we refer to the smaller nursery as Little Nivan.

Nivan Lodge

Nivan Lodge provides a warm, safe environment for children aged from rising three until ready for school, with a dedicated team of qualified staff providing a varied range of activities and equipment for play, learning and fun.

The main intake is from September and the waiting list is prioritised by siblings and the Little Nivan children and then by order of birth.

The nursery is open mornings only, 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, 9 - 12 noon.

Lunch Club is held on Wednesday and Thursday from 12.00 - 1 o'clock and children bring their own healthy packed lunch.

Little Nivan

Little Nivan is our dedicated space for the younger children who would find Nivan Lodge a daunting place to be. It has the appropriate increased staff ratio, 1:4,  and a tailor-made curriculum and facilities for this younger age group. Little Nivan is available for two mornings a week, Tuesday and Thursday, 9 - 12 noon. Friday morning will become available as demand requires.

We hope to ensure that children progressing from Little Nivan into Nivan Lodge will find the transition comfortable and will experience minimum anxiety as they  move up with established friends and a new confidence into an already very familiar but larger, noisier environment.
